These birds are perfect for apartments as they are comparatively quiet parrots (though not silent!). They can learn to talk and mimic many sounds. They are great family pets with a calmer demeanor. They are fairly independent for those who work, but would also love to sit on your shoulder all day and hang out with you. They are very intelligent and can easily learn tricks. These birds make fantastic pets!

Senegal Parrots
The Senegal is a wonderful little parrot with a charming personality. They are very clever, and you get a "big bird" type of behavior in a smaller, quieter, easy to care for package. They are compact, cuddly and very playful. Their speech is enunciated clearly, and if taught properly, with understanding. Senegals that are given daily attention and interaction tend to be very undemanding.

Meyers Parrots
Meyer's are, indeed, little gems. Light has a way of playing across their brilliant turquoise feathers, making them glow like blue topaz. The Meyer's is every bit as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside. Calm and steady by nature, the Meyer's is a good choice for a homes that include children. Senegals, for example, tend to be one person birds. Meyer's on the other hand, are likely to maintain balanced relationships with a number of people. They are unlikely to bite. They are sweet, but not shy. And they tend to truly like people, even strangers. One famous breeder put it this way: "Senegals love being loved by you, but Meyer's love loving you."

Jardines Parrots
Called "African Amazons", same great confident and intelligent personality without the mood swings or volume. Jardines are capable of large vocabularies and accuracy in mimicry. Beyond their potential speaking ability, however, these extremely playful birds are famous for charming their owners with their cute, sideways swaggering gait, their love of lying on their backs, their goofy ways and a general love for fun. This is a great bird for anyone wanting a personality parrot with good talking potential and a steady temperament.
